County Drug Task Force Seizes 54 Bricks of Heroin, Thousands in Cash

District Attorney Eugene Vittone announced Friday that the Washington County District Attorneys Drug Task Force executed two search warrants in the past 16 hours—seizing 54 bricks of heroin, weapons and thousands in cash.

Late Thursday night, the Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 1321 Gilmore Avenue in Donora. This warrant resulted from an on-going investigation by Task Force detectives into the distribution of heroin from this location and centered around the target, Christopher Byrd, 30.

Seized as the result of this investigation were 54 bricks of heroin (approximately
2,700 stamp bags of heroin), a pistol and approximately $6,400.

Byrd was arraigned and lodged in the Washington County Jail after beng unable to post a $200,000 bond.

The Drug Task Force was assisted by Donora police, Charleroi Regional Police Department, East Bethlehem Police Department, Carroll Township Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Friday morning, the Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence at 564 North Kings Creek Road in Hanover Township.

Jebidia J. Keiser Jr., 33, was taken into custody on possession with intent to deliver charges and was being arraigned.

Seized as a result of this search included several live marijuana plants, Oxycodone and Hydrocodone prescription pills and a pistol.
The drug task force was assisted by members of the Hanover Township Police Department.

“I am very proud of law enforcement today. Many people do not realize just how large this county is in terms of land area. These two separate investigations are located 50 miles apart yet our task force was able to successfully coordinate and safely execute these warrants within the past 16 hours," Vitton said. "This demonstrates the professionalism and the resolve of these police detectives in the drug task force to fight dangerous drugs anywhere they are located within Washington County. I appreciate their efforts and the work that they do.”
