Eighty Four Man Will Stand Trial for DUI, Fighting With North Strabane Police

The most serious charge against Jason Montani was withdrawn—and the others were waived to Washington County Court.

The most serious charge of aggravated assault lodged against an Eighty Four man accused of fighting with the police and spitting blood in a North Strabane Township officer's face was withdrawn Tuesday—but he is headed to trial on lesser charges.

The office of district Judge Jay Weller confirmed Tuesday that Jason Montani, 40, waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of driving under the influence, making terroristic threats, resisting arrest and three counts of simple assault.

North Strabane police charged Montani after being notified of a possible intoxicated driver Sept. 9 by Peters. When approached by police, officers said Montani became aggressive and needed to be tased four times before finally being placed under arrest.
