Felony Charges Withdrawn Against Man Accused Of Throwing Punches, Dentures At Police
The remaining charges against William Moody, 71, will proceed via Veteran's Court.
The most serious charges against an Eighty-Four man accused of becoming physically combative with North Strabane Township police were withdrawn Monday.
Felony counts of aggravated assault were withdrawn against William Moody, 71, who police said began throwing punches - as well as his dentures - at officers following an incident in his yard last month.
Police said Moody became enraged after a Good Samaritan parked in his driveway following a multi-vehicle crash near his home.
Moody, who was represented by attorney Steve Toprani, waived to court charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstruction of the administration of the law.
Those charges, Toprani said, would proceed through Veteran's Court.
Moody, he said, was a Vietnam veteran who years ago had been honorably discharged - one of the requirements for the charges to be heard through that court system.
