Houston Man Accused of Selling Drugs to Stand Trial

A Houston man jailed last week after Canonsburg police charged him with possession of drugs and possession with intent to deliver will stand trial for the alleged offenses.

Joshua Butts, 23, on Monday waived his right to a preliminary hearing before district Judge David Mark, who had originally remanded him to the Washington County Jail $25,000 bond, online court records show.

But his bail was changed from a monetary to unsecured bond Monday, court records show.

Police said Butts sold an undercover police officer several bags of suspected heroin in Valley View Terrace, according to the Observer-Reporter newspaper.

Online records show the alleged drug sale took place on Aug. 16.
