Man, Family With Kids Displaced by Canonsburg House Fire

No injuries were reported.

A single man and a family with two chidren were displaced from their apartments after a fire was reported around 3 p.m. Thursday.

Canonsburg Assistant Fire Chief Tim Solobay said there were two apartments in the building located at 202 Orchard Ave. The building is owned by Alphonso D'Amica, and sustained heavy damage.

Whie no injuries were reported, the American Red Cross was called in to help the family that lived on the first floor of the building.

Solobay said the blaze was electrical in nature, and that crews from Canonsburg, Houston, North Strabane and Peters Township all responded. First responders were on scene until about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, the assistant chief added.

No further information was immediately available Thursday night.
