The crash happened in the northbound lanes—closing the roadway.

Washington County Coroner Tim Warco has released the identity of a 20-year-old woman who died in a crash on Interstate 79 north in Amwell Township around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Warco said Sarah Marie Graham, of Bear Den Road, in Frederick, MD, died from trauma. He ruled the death an accident, according to a release.

Graham was a passenger in a Ford sedan traveling northbound in the passing lane of I-79 at mile marker 23.

The driver of that vehicle reportedly lost control, struck a guardrail and was then hit by another vehicle traveling north in the driving lane, according to Warco.

Graham was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash closed the roadway, according to the Observer-Reporter.

The driver was transported to a Pittsburgh hospital with unknown injuries.

Warco was assisted at the scene by Amwell Township and Lone Pine fire departments.

The crash is under investigation by state police in Washington.
