Nearby: Coroner Rules Death a Homicide, Teen Charged

The incident happened Tuesday night.

Washington County Coroner Tim Warco released the name of a City of Washington gunshot wound victim—and ruled his death a homicide.

Warco said Matthew O. Mathis, 37, of Fayette St., died around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday at his residence.

In a release he said the man was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital, as was a woman in the residence who was also injured.

The Observer-Reporter indicated that 18-year-old Brandon Wolowski was charged with homicide and other offenses in connection to the incident.

Online court records indicate the teenager was remanded to the Washington County Jail early Wednesday after being arraigned by district Judge James Ellis.

He is not eligible for bond.
