Search Warrant Executed at Canonsburg Business

Canonsburg police, state police and members of the county's drug task force were all on scene—and a member of the district attorney's office said it was one of 'many' warrants being executed Wednesday.

Members of the , state police and the county drug taskforce converged on a Canonsburg business Wednesday morning.

Detectives walked in and out of the Cricket store on West Pike Street, one of them carrying an evidence box.

Canonsburg police Chief R.T. Bell confirmed a search warrant was being executed, but declined to comment further.

A member of the district attorney’s office who was on scene said the store is one of “many” businesses across the county that will be served with search warrants Wednesday.

The official said more information would be issued by state police later today—and that the effort was part of a further-reaching investigation.

The Observer-Reporter on its website reported that the investigation deals with synthetic marijuana.
