Texas Man Accused of Shooting Coworker Found Guilty of Manslaughter

A sentencing hearing for Danny Kirtley has been scheduled for Nov. 27.

A former Texas man accused of fatally shooting a coworker at a North Strabane welding shop last year was found not guilty Tuesday of third degree murder—but a jury did convict him of voluntary manslaughter and two counts of aggravated assault, according to the office of Washington County Judge Janet Moschetta Bell.

A sentencing hearing for Danny Kirtley, who lived in Mount Pleasant Township prior to the incident, has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 17 before Bell, the judge’s office confirmed.

Kirtley was accused of killing Trevor Compton inside a warehouse at All Occasions Party Rental on Wilson Road after an altercation.
