Two Arrested for Drug Possession in North Strabane

Cody Neely and Austin Tawney were both remanded to the Washington County Jail Thursday.

North Strabane police charged a man and woman from West Virginia with possession of drugs and other offenses Thursday.

Both Cody Neely, 41, and Austin Tawney, 22, were charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness Thursday and arraigned before district Judge David Mark, who remanded them to the Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.

Both are scheduled to appear before district Justice Jay Weller Oct. 2 for preliminary hearings, according to online court records.

The Observer-Reporter newspaper indicated that police charged the pair after being called to The Meadows Racetrack & Casino for reports of them sleeping in a truck, where officers found suspected heroin and paraphernalia.
