Two-Vehicle Crash Closes 980 in Cecil Township Monday Morning

Cecil Township police said the crash occurred when a tri axel truck was driving through the tunnel at 980's intersection with Millers Run Road just before 6 a.m. Monday.

State Route 980 in Cecil Township was closed for about 40 minutes Monday morning following a two-vehicle crash.

Cecil Township police said the crash occurred when a tri axel truck was driving through the tunnel at 980's intersection with Millers Run Road just before 6 a.m. Monday.

Because of the size of the tri axel truck, another vehicle—a pickup truck—was pushed up against the side of the tunnel.

Police said that while no injuries were reported, the driver of the pickup truck was briefly entrapped.

That man, police said, was able to crawl out of a window before first responders arrived.

Cecil Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene, and cleaned up debris from the roadway, police said.

No further information was available. No charges were filed as of Monday.
