According to the Observer-Reporter, Cole allegedly told residents at the home that he was being chased by a gun. When the family called police, the newspaper indicated that the man then allegedly ran out the door, and was later found trying to hide in a nearby convenience store parking lot. He then reportedly tried to run from police.

Cole is scheduled to appear before district Judge Jay Weller for a preliminary hearing at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 5, according to online court records.
