$1.2 Million Budgeted for Upper St. Clair Road Paving This Year

The roads township officials hope to repave this year.

Upper St. Clair Township officials plan to spend about $1.2 million on road paving in 2013.

A list of targeted roads has been developed based on a rating system that looks at road usage, the last year it was paved, the condition, the public input and other similar factors. The list could be changed, especially after the freeze-thaw cycle in the spring.

  • Bartley Road
  • Clairmont Drive
  • Country Club Drive
  • Fox Run Circle
  • High Knolls Drive
  • Hollow Tree Drive
  • Huntington Drive
  • Keifer Drive
  • Pheasant Circle
  • Phillips Drive
  • Sherbrooke Drive
  • Southern Hilands Drive
  • Southwood Drive
  • Timberwood Drive
  • Weston Drive
  • Woodlands Circle

There are also tentative plans to resurface the municipal basketball courts and the Baker Park tennis courts—with pickleball lines.

Russell Del Re, vice president of the board of commissioners and chair of the public works committee, said the township repaves about 3.25 miles of roadways each year.

Township Manager Matthew Serakowski said that the township is in communication with Pennsylvania American Water to fix the Morrow Road surface after the company's pipeline upgrade project last summer.

Hi Laurel, thanks for your comment. I received word from officials that Kennebec Road is actually Bethel Park and it's Bethel Park that is responsible for that road.

Thanks for your comment, Sue. I'll pass it along to Public Works.

The cul-de-sac on Rexford is badly cracked and heaved. It should be investigated.
