50th Anniversary 4th of July Book Available

The Canonsburg July Fourth Committee is celebrating the anniversary with a 56-page book.

The July Fourth Committee will be celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

To mark the occasion, the committee is publishing a 56-page book with black-and-white and color photos from the first to most recent parades, as well as photos from Town Park activities and stadium/fireworks.

Floats honoring the moon landing, music stars, and military units from the Vietnam era through Afghanistan are among the highlights.

A limited number of books will be available for $10 in late April. The book will be available at the borough office, Robert Maceiko's tax collector's office, the Greater Canonsburg Chamber of Commerce office and the Frank Sarris Public Library.

Call 724-745-5310 for more information.

I was just saying last night, that my grandmothers had lots of photos and slides from the parades and was just talking about going through them...wish I knew they were doing that.

That's too bad! I can't wait to see what the book looks like, though!
