Cecil Township supervisors on Monday hired a full-time public works director.
The board voted unanimously to hire William Bottorff at an annual salary of $64,000.
Bottorff spent the last 16 years in a public works-related position in Allegheny County, according to township Manager Don Genusso.
He will begin his tenure at the township later this month.
Some residents questioned why there is no requirement for Botorrff to reside within the township.
Board President Tom Casciola said he was management and was not required to live in Cecil.
