Cecil Woman Announces Supervisor Run

Cindy Fisher is running for a seat on the Cecil Township Board of Supervisors.

A Cecil woman has announced that she will run for a seat on the township board of supervisors.

Cindy Fisher, 32, will vie for a seat this year.

She has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Duquesne University and a master's degree in education from the school.

While she is currently a stay-at-home mom of three children, she worked for almost 10 years in the finance/real estate industry.

Fisher said she supports the responsible development of Marcellus Shale drilling.

"I am running for the position of township supervisor because I am devoted to preserving the qualities of this great community, which is why it was voted (the number one) place to raise a family.  Similar to the many families I have spoken to, these qualities are why we moved our family of seven from a nearby township to Cecil Township," Fisher said.

She continued: "I have grown to love this great community, as well as its residents. If elected, I will work hard for the residents in maintaining the best qualities of our community, as well as work hard to progress our township to flourish into the future."

Fisher and her husband have five children—two 14-year-olds, Michael and Matthew, 4-year-old twin boys Logan and Joshua, and 1-year-old daughter, Brynn.

For more information, check out Fisher's website here.

A Muse man, Frank Egizio also announced his candidacy for a supervisor seat.

No, she is Jesse and Andy puppet.....
Jamie Jones February 22, 2013 at 04:13 AM
I would just like to add my two cents here.....Supervisors in any Municipality must follow the zoning ordinances that are set forth. NO ONE has the power to deny someone the USE of their own land. Zoning Districts are set up, with definitions, and Supervisors must follow those districts. They MUST allow the use if it falls within the definition of the District. If someone owns a large tract of land, and wants to build homes or sell to a developer, the Township can't stop them. They can regulate how many homes, ingress, egress, etc., but they can't deny the use just to keep it rural.....
Prouder American February 22, 2013 at 04:26 AM
Okay, I have to jump in here and ask proud american a direct question. What do you think is more harmful to Cecil Township- residential developments or natural gas drilling?
cecil resident February 22, 2013 at 04:27 AM
Jamie Jones you made a very good point but one of Cindy Fisher priorities said she wanted to maintain Cecil's rural charm while encouraging development in appropriate area's. Maybe she is not aware how the township laws work.
Prouder American February 22, 2013 at 04:35 AM
...this coming from proud american, aka Janice Ludwin Gibbs, who has repeatedly defended Act 13, which would strip nearly all zoning authority from the township when it comes to natural gas drilling, compressor stations and pipelines? Are you kidding me? Answer the question asked above, please. Which is more harmful to the township- residential development or natural gas drilling? It's a simple question.
cecil resident February 22, 2013 at 04:44 AM
Prouder American yes I defend Act 13 I also defend safe drilling and this strip nearly all zoning authority is a Rep. White talking point. I'm not afraid to answer your question we can have both in Cecil Township. When a person runs for office their will be many tough questions and statements they stand by may need to be clarified.
Harold February 22, 2013 at 04:45 AM
Why does anyone even listen to janice ludwin gibbs? She's the classic uneducated yinzer who is only on here to be the puppet of Energy In Depth. Not only is she dumber than a box of rocks, she's an embarrassment to this community.
cecil resident February 22, 2013 at 04:47 AM
Harold I get the feeling you don't like me why is everyone afraid of Energy in Depth?
Harold February 22, 2013 at 04:52 AM
I don't dislike you- I feel sorry for you. You're being manipulated by big energy companies to be their local puppet and you don't even realize it. It's impossible to say you love your town while condoning what they are doing to it.
Harold February 22, 2013 at 04:52 AM
Kim, quit being such a troublemaker. You got the township to spend all sorts of money fixing Birch Way but you continue to complain about everything. Go away.
cecil resident February 22, 2013 at 04:59 AM
Harold if you want to have an honest debate with facts that is great, no one manipulates me I sought out EID they didn't come to me. Our town was divided long before EID came into the picture. All that a side this site is about Cindy Fisher running for Supervisor and what she stands for , I have seen her at the township meeting and she can speak for herself, and I don't feel she would speak to a long time voting resident the way that you have.
Me February 22, 2013 at 07:05 AM
Harold I feel sorry for you. Amanda what happen to keep it on topic and civil.
cecil resident February 22, 2013 at 01:05 PM
Harold and Prouder American Cindy Fisher is a well educated women who has made the choice of running for supervisor in a township that has been some what divided over issues. She was asked some questions that any person running for office might be asked . If both of you think you are helping her by attacking the people that have asked her these questions, people who vote , you are badly mistaken unless you plan on following her around and attacking every person personally that has a question about where she stands on issues. People will look at the angry insults towards people she wants to represent and wonder why . If you truly want to help her campaign debate the issues all you are doing is putting a black mark on her campaign and turning away potential voters who care about the issues not how you feel about the people who ask the question.
Prouder American February 22, 2013 at 01:29 PM
Janice Ludwin Gibbs, your hypocrisy is astounding. You have no problem hounding every public official you disagree with, setting ridiculous imaginary standards in your head that will never be fulfilled. But when someone turns the tables on you, you run and cry. Your act is wearing very thin, especially when you're associating with checkered groups like Energy in Depth and people with a history of fiscal impropriety like Elizabeth Cowden.
cecil resident February 22, 2013 at 02:59 PM
Prouder American debating issues are one thing and personal attacks are another everytime you can't handle a debate or back the issues you stand for you resort to personal attacks, look back at other debates over other issues. I have never personally attacked any public offical I have disagreed with them on issues and debated with them on these issues never once resorted to personal attack,.People attack when they can't debate issues, Prouder your problem with me is that I'm pro drilling that is the reason EID worries you so much that is the reason you keep bringing it up.you are so afraid they are going to unite the pro gas citizens in this township. If you think people are not looking at this site and wondering what is Cindy Fisher's campaign all about issues or mud throwing you don't know the voters in Cecil Township very well. You have not talked about one thing why we should vote for Ms. Fisher's or why her policies are good for our community people tried smear campaign in 2010 and it didn't work. Ms Fisher I apologize that this has become about things not connected to your campaign or the issues you feel are important to our township.

Wish North Strabanians would get so pumped up about new people running for supervisor... Wish Patch would cover North Strabane.... There is more going on here than craigslist finds, expensive houses, and agendas....
Anna Coen February 22, 2013 at 08:24 PM
Amanda, I'm late coming in on this conversation but i am troubled by some of the remarks made on the issue. First of all I believe Frank Egizio,Cindy Fisher and any other resident have the right to run for supervisor on the issues they are passionate about that are germane to our township without being exposed to some of the personal remarks posted here..Folks these are the new people running and the campaign should be about them, on the issues, and not any personal feelings one might have about someone and then"We Vote" Do we not all believe one has the right to disagree but Amanda as you say "Let's keep it on topic and civil" As the Editor of The Patch and as a Journalist, is the post bringing up someone 's past that is not even in the race appropriate, even though this person provided a link?To me it's not about any one of the supervisor's this is about a new campaign and let's keep in on the issues that we care about "Cecil Township"
Amanda Gillooly May 09, 2013 at 11:52 AM
I addressed your question and added a line in the story about Mr. Egizio. I don't know what more you want from me.
Joe Ellipses May 09, 2013 at 12:33 PM
The pot calling the kettle black........
Donald Smith May 09, 2013 at 10:48 PM
Amanda, When reading Frank Egizio's article this pops up "Read More in Elections Cecil Woman Announces Supervisor Run" on Frank Egizio's article. In which you won't address that issue on his page or have a conversation on his page with me about this. If you read your own statement you would fix this in a "skinny minute" back in March. I do not see a link for Frank Egizio on Cindy Fisher page. Also, Joe I used CAPS as break in my wording.
Joe Ellipses May 09, 2013 at 11:03 PM
Mr. Smith, I didn't say a word about your CAPS - Mr. Reynolds did.... But, you are still barking up the wrong tree with this... The links in the bottom left are auto-generated for the next news story in the category... There is nothing for Amanda to do... She did add the links IN THE STORY (See what I did there with the CAPS???)... Just call Amanda, I'm sure if you two get together and SPEAK about it, you will understand.... Have a pleasant evening...
Donald Smith May 10, 2013 at 03:44 AM
Joe, that reply wasn't meant for you. It was meant for Frank Reynolds. It was a mistake clearly. Plus, Joe we are not talking about links. Amanda and I were speaking of "the pop ups" which she stated herself she can fix! on her own! This subject is dead, talking to Amanda is like talking to Jesse White. I have better conversation with my houseplants.
Bradley Johnson May 10, 2013 at 04:55 PM
Cindy, I have a question for you. While at the post office last week, an older man approached me and asks me and other residents of Cecil Township to sign a petition requesting a forensic audit of all Cecil Township bank accounts. The man had several pages full of names and addresses of residents who had already signed the petition. The man explained, considering all of the controversy over our police chief of 38 years, John Pushak resigning because of thousands of dollars missing from Cecil Townships sting operations account. Many residents of Cecil Township are concerned that our tax dollars are being misused and abused. I know that an audit has been completed, but the audit was done by the same accounting firm that has been auditing Cecil Township for years. Furthermore, the audit is being withheld from the residents of Cecil Township. My question to you is. Would you sign this petition asking the Cecil Township Board of Supervisors to support an independent forensic audit? If yes why?If no why not?
Concerned Citizen May 12, 2013 at 02:07 AM
Donald Smith is a typical Egizio supporter. Is that really the kind of people you want running out township?
Concerned Citizen May 12, 2013 at 02:13 AM
Bradley- Why post that question on 4 different articles? I don't understand why you are using the patch to ask a question of Cindy Fisher.
Donald Smith May 19, 2013 at 05:50 PM
I find this campaign with Cindy Fisher turning out to be one of the childish local campaigns I have seen for years. I have talked with all 3 candidates and still not decided. All I keep reading and hearing about is Cindy Fisher abusing the taxpaying dollars for calling Cecil Police for burning of signs (Jesse White is a pro for teaching that tactic just Google it), numerous frivolous, taxpayer dollars being wasted for campaign abuse? Really? That’s politics 101! There are post on other social media of someone calling the police while she was at the park. That person was also Cindy Fisher. You can check the police calls yourself but she posted that someone else did it. Then I hear it happened again today. How much taxpayers dollars do you plan on wasting before getting into office?
Donald Smith May 19, 2013 at 05:51 PM
Cindy Fisher these are your words on the Patch: “ Cindy Peitzman Fisher 9:48 pm on Friday, April 26, 2013 Lynne- I have paid for 100% of my campaign expenses. No one is footing the bill except for me. I just want to make that clear. If you don’t believe me. My first campaign finance report is due May 6th. Please go to voter registration and get a copy.” You forgot to mention the people who donated to your campaign. Only one local donation and quite a few from Venetia and the donations are more than what you put in on your own. You also have your two backers, who got our region sued in the first place from Range. Plus, you are still -$732.95. You have not paid that bill yet. I just see someone coming in using taxpayer dollars on numerous frivolous complaints to the local police made from you at the taxpayers’ expense! Plus, you’re still in campaign debt before you are elected, and you say you want to get Cecil out of debt? Not seeing it. I don’t hear any complaining from the other party’s, even though they are enduring the same treatment as you.
