Five Things You Need to Know This Week

Lots of stuff going on. Check it out. Be informed.

  1. Canonsburg Council will hold its regular monthly voting meeting at 7 p.m. tonight—Monday. The meeting will be held in the borough building, and is open to the public. On the agenda is an action item regarding a compromise on when Fourth of July parade chairs can be placed along Pike Street.
  2. Canon-McMillan School Board will hold its agenda meeting at 7 p.m. tonight—Monday—in the district administration building. The meeting is open to the public.
  3. Monday is also Columbus Day. Federal offices and some local offices will be closed. Also closed: The state Department of Transportation licensing centers.
  4. Canonsburg Council will hold its first budget workshop at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the borough building. The meeting is open to the public.
  5. The North Strabane Fire Department will hold an open house from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the station. Saturday as part of Fire Prevention Week. Look for our feature story tomorrow!
