Liberty Tunnel Overnight Lane Closures Begin Monday Night

Lane closures in the tunnels are due to cellular antenna and cable work, and will last throughout the month.

If you're heading back to the Canon-McMillan area from downtown at night, you might run into delays at the Liberty Tunnel. Single-lane traffic will occur in the tunnel beginning today, Jan. 7.

PennDOT crews will be performing cellular antenna and cable work. Restrictions will occur as needed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

One lane will remain open in each direction at all times, but PennDOT advises drivers to use caution, allow extra time for travel and expect changing traffic patterns in the tunnel.
