Mayor Honors Canonsburg Business and Professional Women

Mayor David H. Rhome presented a proclamation honoring the group this week as part of National Business and Professional Women's Week.

Canonsburg Business and Professional Women have been celebrated National Business Women’s Week with a fundraiser and several other events—including  a proclamation from the mayor of the borough.

"On behalf of the citizens of the borough of Canonsburg, we honor Canonsburg Business and Professional Woman," Mayor David H. Rhome wrote. "I urge all citizens, businesses and community organizations in the borough of Canonsburg to join this salute to working women. Encourage and promote the celebration of the achievements of all working women as they contribute to our economic, civic, cultural goals and livelihood."

The group also hosted its  “Autumn Elegance” event, which included a vendor fair, dinner, fashion show, door prizes and a Chinese Auction at the DoubleTree Meadowlands on Monday.

Proceeds from the Fashion Fair fund the activities of BPW, a non-profit civic organization that supports community projects, gives scholarships and educational grants, and promotes the interests of business and professional women.

Canonsburg BPW also hosted a “Meet and Greet” at the Frank Sarris Public Library on Thursday.
