Reminder: Burning Not Permitted in Canonsburg Until November

Borough officials want to remind residents of the rules.

Canonsburg officials are reminding residents that burning is not permitted in the borough—yet.

Canonsburg does not permit burning through Oct. 31.

But effective Nov. 1, burning is permitted Wednesday and Saturday only.

The only items permitted to be burned are small twigs and branches.

Sorry, no leaves or newspapers are allowed to be burned.

I remember them briefing on this at the last meeting. Leaf pickup for Canonsburg at least I believe is Saturday, Oct. 27 and Saturday, Nov. 10.

Seriously. First I’m not a direct resident but, You all are starting to burn at the worst time, as the end of fall everything is dead, dried out, and November has the worst accidental fire incidents. And you can’t burn leaves? .So fill up land fills with materials can be naturally burned and the ash is a natural compost. You can Burn in a fire barrel or pit. A little smoke in the neighbor hood will not hurt. Besides the smell of burning leaves is a big part of fall, just as cutting grass has the scent of spring and summer. Sorry for babbling as I just woke up. Talk about control....

Sorry, one more point. Canonsburg I suppose will have a cigarette smoking ban soon. Fires are accidentally started more buy cigarette butts than personal home fires.
