This Week: Neuman's STEM Initiative Forum

The event will bring together business leaders and educators to develop strategies to better prepare local students for quality jobs.

State Rep. Brandon Neuman will host his STEM Initiative Forum—an event that will bring together business leaders and educators to develop strategies to better prepare local students for good-paying, high-demand science and technology jobs in the region.

The STEM (also known as science, technology, engineering and mathematics)  forum will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Pony Baseball Headquarters, located at 1951 Pony Place in Washington.

Joining Neuman, D-North Strabane, will be representatives from global businesses Chevron, Shell and Westinghouse, along with education experts from California University of Pennsylvania, the Carnegie Science Center and Junior Achievement to discuss their STEM programs and outreach activities.

"The forum will be an excellent way for leading businesses and educators to discuss how to strengthen local programs that prepare students for careers in science and technology,” Neuman said. “l am looking forward to seeing educators and businesses collaborate to inspire the next generation."
