VIDEO: Township Asking Range Resources to Close Impoundments Continues Heated Hearing

Watch the more than two-hour meeting here.

A public hearing Tuesday regarding the future of four impoundments operated by Southpointe-based Marcellus Shale drilling company Range Resources was continued following hours or sometimes-heated testimony.

Mt. Pleasant issued notices of violations to Range regarding the impoundments, three of which are for waste water, and wanted them shut down.

But Range Resources appealed the violations, leading to the meeting Tuesday.

The meeting will resume at 7 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Hickory Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall.
