Ogres, Onions and Tarot - reprise

No, they're not stinky. The psychic tarot part I mean. Never met an ogre, and some people actually don't like the smell of onions.

It is like "Shreck" said..."ogres are like onions" meaning they have layers...layers upon layers. The same is true of tarot.

Tarot readings, or any kind of "psychic" or intuitive work for that matter, is a very human inactivity. Humans as we all know are complex beings. So naturally, tapping into human intuition and spirituality is also a complex thing.

There is no one easy answer to what Tarot can do for you - or even what psychic readings capable of doing in general. Some people think they are for superficial predictions. If that is what they need, that’s fine. It just isn’t what I do. If a person wants a prediction, an accurate prediction, and nothing but a prediction, then they have to find another psychic to help. I just hope they do that carefully. Caveat Emptor.

Other people come to Tarot and psychic work for guidance in a crisis, to learn which way to turn when they don’t know what to do next. This is the deeper layer where I believe Tarot has its greatest value. Tarot and intuition can help ease turbulent emotions by getting a fresh look at a situation and maybe seeing other ways out of dark times. Think of it like a path in the woods, or in a tall hedge maze. When you are IN the situation, it is easy to only look at the immediate things around you. It is easy to get caught up in the reflex emotions and reactions of the moment. It’s only human to do that.

But a Tarot reading is like a traffic helicopter that comes along and radios down other possible routes out of the woods.  Tarot is about helping you get a broader more complete overview of your situation.

It is NOT about predicting what will happen with 100% certainty. You might choose to turn back or go a totally different direction than the reading suggests. The choice and control is totally yours how to proceed, which direction to go. When you choose a different action, you get a different result. The future isn'tpredicted, it is created through your choices (and the choices of others). 

Psychics and Tarot are just spiritual GPS. Readings can give you an overview to show where you are, how you got there, and suggest a good next turn to get where YOU decide to go. You are are still the driver, the one in control of the car.

The deepest layer of all is pure spirituality. Intuitive work…psychic readings, tarot, runes, palm readings, tea leaves, what-have-you, is an expression of what we believe about the world and life in this universe. It expresses a belief in the esoteric…a belief that there is more to this life than meets the eye.  It speaks of the subtle and intangible things beyond simple physical predictions and beyond mental emotions. If you want/need psychic work to be purely physical, with superficial, inaccurate, unreliable "predictions" it can be that for you. If you want it to be a path to personal learning, stress relief, an emotional balm, it can be. Or you can dive in to the deepest layer and explore whatever spirituality it holds for you, if any. Which layer of psychic intuitive work you choose is up to you. 

Whichever layere you choose, there is more to onions, ogres, psychics and tarot than meets the eye.
