Canon-McMillan Student Named National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalist

Congrats!

Canon-McMillan High School's Kevin Freeman has been named a semi-finalist for the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program.

The recognition is based on his scores on the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Additionally, Benjamin D. Macioszek and Jacob I. Brown have been named commended students.

About 15,000 merit semi-finalists from across the country are expected to advance to compete for 8,400 scholarships worth more than $36 million to be awarded in the spring.

About 34,000 commended students thoughout the nation are being recognized for their academic promise, although they will not continue in the 2013 competition for a National Merit Scholarship award.
