The Canon-McMillan School District is alerting parents and community members of possible “stranger danger.”
In a letter posted on the district website Thurday indicated that two students, while walking to Canonsburg Middle School, reported a possible stranger danger situation.
“A white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head was walking behind the students,” the letter read. “While the individual did not make contact with the students, the students were under the impression that he was following them. The Canonsburg Police Department was contacted and immediately patrolled the area. A report has been filed with the police.”
The letter continued: “While it is difficult to ascertain whether or not the situation was circumstantial or not, the school district is taking all measures to inform the community to keep an eye out of any suspicious activity.”
No further information was immediately available Thursday afternoon.
