Coming Soon: New Welding Training Center for Area Students

A new state-of-the-art facility to train welders with advanced and specific skills sets is being built in Houston, Washington County.

On June 25, Canon-McMillan School Director Mark Dopudja joined other members of the Western Area Career and Technology Center’s Joint Operating Committee to take part in the groundbreaking ceremony.

Funding for this project was made possible by Local Share revenue awarded by the Washington County Commissioners and administered by the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington and grants obtained through the efforts of state Sen. Tim Solobay, D-Canonsburg, and state Rep. Brandon Neuman, D-North Strabane, and state Rep. Jesse White, D-Cecil.
