Upper St. Clair Routs Canon-McMillan

Panthers improve to 2-0 while Big Macs still seek first win.

On paper, it looked like a mismatch: Upper St. Clair, which advanced to last year’s WPIAL Class AAAA championship game, vs. , a team that has one win since 2009.

But you never know. That’s why they play the games.

Unfortunately for the Big Macs, Friday’s contest lived down to the apparent disparity, as the Panthers scored early and often on the way to a 50-0 victory.

Tim Witenske caught a touchdown pass from Pete Coughlin following a blocked punt less than one minute into the game, and Upper St. Clair never looked back. The score was 43-0 at halftime.

Upper St. Clair (2-0) takes on Southeastern Conference rival Peters Township (2-0) next Friday, while Canon-McMillan (0-2) travels to Pittsburgh Central Catholic (2-0) for a non-conference game.
