Daily verse for Thursday 7 Feb 2013

Psalms 22:1 - My God my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

Mark 15:34 - And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is being interpreted, My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?

2 Corinthians 5:21 - For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

The verse in Mark shows us that Christ uttered tge exact words that David predicted in Psalms 22:1. The verse in 2 Corinthians 5:21 explains why Jesus said these words while He was hanging on the cross. Even though He was without sin, all of our sins, past, present, and future, were transferred from our account to His account.

... and, His righteousness was transferred to us. While we remain with a propensity to sin, our standing before the Father is through the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our position is sure and right, but we remain in our earthly tent with new life, and a choice not to sin. Good connections, Scott!
