These verses again make very clear about the historical path from ancient times, to the time of Jesus. Set aside for a moment the God-directed path, and focus on the lineage that is confirmed through other sources. It helps derail the assertions about myths, ancient writings, and gives us greater confidence regarding the truthfulness of Scripture. Your passages a few days ago regarding prophecy also support this idea. Some may choose to discount the authenticity of the Bible, but they are unable to deny these simple facts, of lineage and prophecy/fulfillment. These same principles are applied to other literature by the objectors, but choose to discard the principles when reading the Bible. Way too often, objectors are not clear about what they are rejecting, and why they are rejecting. The Bible is a book gathering together writings of over 40 authors, over thousands of years, all of which fit together. Scott, your two offerings of the past couple of days help to deflect suggestions of inconsistency, and contradiction. Thank you.

Thank you for takin the words right outta my mouth Roger :) I have said the same thing many times. I've spoken to many folks who have tried to "throw the Bible out the window" but acknowledge many extra-biblical sources of history that parallel the biblical history. Through the coming days/months I will be continuing to post prophecy/fulfillment scriptures. I especially can't wait until I get to Isaiah and Psalms. Stay tuned
