Area Soccer Players Headed to Championship Tournament in Rhode Island

Congrats to the Canon-McMillan High School students who are headed to the competition!

Congratulations are in order for the Century United U16 and U17 soccer teams, which recently qualified for the Region 1 Championship tournament at the University of Rhode Island.

The teams—which includes players from the Canon-McMillan area—will face off against the competition from June 27 through July 2.

The teams qualified by winning Pennsylvania's West State Cup Championship on May 19. 

Canon-McMillan High School soccer players Josh Kruczek and Nick Sodini will play with their teammates on the U16 team. Canon-McMillan's Ivan Viveros will play with his teammates from the U17 team.

Other CM students headed to the tournament are Zack Joyce, who plays with Arsenal FC Elite-U15, as well as Allison Thomas and Kyra Murphy, who play with the Beadling Gunners-U16. Ally Walker and Izabella Scheindhelm, who play with the Beadling Bulldogs-U14 are also headed to the championship tournament.
