The Canon-McMillan Boys Lacrosse team began its 2013 season Friday night on a high note as theBig Macs dominated the Trinity Hillers 13-1.

The last three season openers for the Big Macs have been at Hiller Field and the weather conditions for each have been far from ideal with spring being only a hopeful wish.

Despite temperatures in the 30s and the wind whipping at a serious pace, Canon-Mac came out on fire, building up a 9-0 halftime lead—mainly on the strength of three-goal performances by Zach Moore and Richie Leeds.

Connor Neimeyer continued the onslaught only 14 seconds into the second half after Moore set him up all alone in front of the Trinity goal. Neimeyer ended the evening with a two-goal, four-assist performance. Sophomore Nick Carr contributed his own three-goal hat trick and Ben Ward and Isaac Miles added one tally each.

Goalie Will Grazani's bid for a shut out fell just short as his failed clearing pass lead to Trinity's only goal with 1:40 left in the game.

The Big Macs hold its season opener on Monday, March 25 when the Knoch Knights invade Canon Mac Stadium for a 6 p.m. start.
