Jessamyn West, once said, "Talent is helpful in writing, but guts are absolutely necessary." I re-found this quote last night on what my friend likes to call, "my wall of inspiration."

To be able to actually write is one thing, but guts are definitely necessary in this industry. Some of the things we have to face can bring back bad memories. Some of the things we have to face are just flat out, (and there's only one way to say this,) uncomfortable to write.

We are faced with a challenge every time, how to tell the story in a way for the reader to understand. Every time we write, we are leaving a piece of ourselves out there for the world to see, in a way, making us vulnerable. In fact, I believe that's what makes us so gutsy. It takes a lot of confidence to put yourself out there.

So, kudos to all you fellow writers out there!
