Undefeated 2-0!

Pens undefeated season underway!

Okay, I will be the first to admit, I watched more of the Pens game then I did the football game with the Patriots and Ravens tonight. However, can you really blame me? It's Pittsburgh! It's a great day for hockey!

After a long turn of events with the NHL lockout, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the rest the teams started their shortened season yesterday. The Pens faced off against Pennsylvania rivals, the Philadelphia Flyers, in Philly. Tyler Kennedy, James Neal, and Chris Kunitz, all scored to give the Pens their first game a win against the flyers, 3-1.

Yesterday, Penguins goaltender, Mark-Andre Fleury opened the new season with his 227th win in a Penguins uniform, passing Tom Barrasso to take sole possession of first place on Pittsburgh’s all-time wins list. What an honor for him.

Today, the Pens took on the New York Rangers at New York where the Pens won their 2nd game with scoring goals from James Neal, Tyler Kennedy, Matt Niskanen, Pascal Dupuis, and Kris Letang. End score, Pens win 6-3.

Next game will take place at Consol Energy Center where the Pens take on the Toronto Maple Leaves, this coming Wednesday, January 23rd. Game time starts at 7pm. Hopefully we can continue the undefeated streak! Let's go Pens!
