Grant Applications Being Sought

The Ernest Q. Johnson Trust supports organizations that provide activities for Canonsburg-area youths.

BNY Mellon is accepting applications for grants from the Ernest Q. Johnson Trust, a fund established to support organizations providing activities for -area youths.

The trust is administered by BNY Mellon Wealth Management.

Canonsburg native Ernest Q. Johnson established the fund to honor the memory of his parents, John G. and Annie K. M. Johnson, stipulating “income from the trust is to be distributed to such charitable, religious or educational organizations that promote the youth of Canonsburg and its immediate vicinity.”

To apply to the fund, organizations must provide a proposal in letter form requesting funds for a specific dollar amount for a special project or for general support, as well as their most recent financial statement and IRS 501(c)3 tax determination letter.

Applications submitted by organizations must be postmarked by Monday, April 16, 2012, and mailed to:

BNY Mellon Wealth Management will announce the recipients in May and also make disbursements that month.
