Police report possible additional charges.
Canonsburg police responded to a report of fighting and mention of a gun on Summit Street on Monday around 9:18 p.m. They were assisted by officers from North Strabane, Chartiers and Houston police. According to witnesses and participants, a fight broke out between John Lloyd and Jason Reichelt at 325 Summit St. when Lloyd refused to move his truck to let Reichelt leave. Lloyd was looking for information on his grandson. Lloyd was found bleeding from the face and Reichelt with blood on his hands. A witness indicated that Reichelt punched Lloyd. Medics were called to the scene but Lloyd refused treatment. Reichelt said he knew Lloyd had a gun, which was found to be properly registered and was not witnessed during the altercation, police …

A resident of Pittsburgh has pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of violating federal narcotics trafficking laws. Richard Wagner, 27, pleaded guilty to one count before U.S. District Judge Arthur J. Schwab. In connection with the guilty plea, the court was advised that from January 2010 to March 3, 2011, Wagner conspired to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin, according to U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton. Schwab scheduled sentencing for Sept. 17 at 9:30 a.m. The law provides for a total sentence of at least 10 years and up to life in prison, a fine of up to $8,000,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is based upon the seriousness of the offense …

Ashley Lynn Price and Thomas Emmanuel O’Rourke, a new part-time patrolman, took the oath of office at Monday's council meeting where police were also commended for their handling of the South Central Avenue home invasion.
At the regular Canonsburg council meeting last night, two newly hired, part-time police officers were sworn in by Mayor David T. Rhome and police Chief R.T. Bell. Thomas Emmanuel O’Rourke and Ashley Lynn Price took the oath of office, solemnly swearing to “perform their duties in a dedicated and honorable manner” as well as “protect and defend the Constitution of this Commonwealth and that of the United States of America”. Price is the first female officer to be hired in the borough. She is from Canonsburg and a recent graduate of the Police Academy. O’Rourke is a veteran of the Air Force and also serves as an officer for Baldwin Township and Oakdale Borough Police. He is from Cecil Township. The newly sworn in officers were welcomed by a …
Several motorists were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Not only was it raining on Mother’s Day, but the rain caused hazardous conditions for more than a few motorists Sunday and early Monday morning. Nine accidents were reported on Muse Bishop Road and Route 980 in Cecil Township within 24 hours, according to Cecil police. The roads were chipped and tarred last year and multiple accidents have been reported as little as a few weeks ago, but Sunday into Monday morning has been the highest number to date, according to police. Police reports indicated four accidents occurred in the 500 block of Muse Bishop Road between 2:53 and 8:41 p.m. yesterday. All were one-vehicle accidents, with three of the four being rollovers. PennDOT will tar and chip road on Wednesday.
In response to the multiple accidents Sunday and Monday on Muse Bishop Road in Cecil Township, PennDOT will moving up the scheduled tarring and chipping of that road to Wednesday, May 16, according to PennDOT spokesman Jay Ofsanik. The road will remain closed to through traffic while wet conditions are still present, but is open for local residents to proceed with caution. The new surface will provide better traction on the road. “For the safety of motorists, we decided to do this as soon as possible,” Ofsanik said. Jordan McKoy, 20, was sentenced to serve 60 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release by U.S. District Judge Arthur J. Schwab. An Indian appeals court on Friday overturned the conviction of a teenager who had been accused of killing his mother, a South Fayette resident, while on vacation in western India.

The Rajasthan High Court in India on Friday overturned the conviction of Joncarlo Patton, a South Fayette teen who had been accused of killing his mother while on vacation in western India immediate release from a juvenile detention facility, according to Press Trust of India news agency. The Washington Post is reporting that Patton, who was accused of killing his mother, Cynthia Iannarelli, of South Fayette, because he was traumatized over his parents’ divorce, will be returning to the Pittsburgh area. He was sentenced last year to three years in an Indian juvenile detention facility after he was found guilty of slitting his mother’s throat at a desert resort in the western state of Rajasthan in August 2010.
Slick conditions caused multiple accidents and rollovers yesterday and this morning in Cecil.
Muse-Bishop Road is closed in the vicinity of the Montour Trail overpass and a reopening time has not been set, Cecil Township police Chief John T. Pushak said Monday morning. There are no detour signs posted at this time but motorists can use McConnell Road if approaching from the south, and Burnside or Cumer roads if approaching from the north. PennDOT made the decision to close the road this morning after reports of multiple accidents in the area, five of which involved vehicle rollovers. Mark at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, on charges stemming from a home invasion and standoff in Canonsburg on May 10. Brennan Mitchell Cole, 18; Jovontai Graham, 19; and Brandon Michael Trent, 18, are each charged with two counts of robbery with the threat of immediate serious injury, one count of burglary, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of criminal tresspass—breaking into a structure, one count carrying a firearm without a license, two counts of terroristic threats, one count of theft by unlawful taking—moveable property, and two counts of recklessly endangering another person. Nothing was reported missing.
After returning home early Wednesday morning, a Canonsburg resident from 537 Ridge Ave. found the glass pane of his exterior door broken, as well as the frame and glass from the basement door. Canonsburg police arrived at the scene and found both doors still bolted and reported that it appeared that no entry was made to the residence. After checking their valuables, the owners said that nothing appeared to be missing. The damage to the door and glass was estimated at $300. Police checked the homes in the immediate neighborhood and did not find any evidence of attempted entry. They will increase patrols in that area. Why did it take so long to close the road? After the first accident and they found the road was slippery because of the chip and tar treatment, It should have been closed.Three of the cars were roll over and there were children in the cars.Nine cars DAMAGED.It should not have happen.
