Bomb Squad Investigating Suspicious Device Found in Canonsburg Home

Authorities were called after a search of a Canonsburg home that also yielded a large amount of drugs and firearms Wednesday.

The Allegheny County Bomb Squad is investigating a suspicious device that was found in a Canonsburg residence Wednesday that appeared to be an improvised explosive. Washington County probation officers were conducting a compliance check on Justin Miller at 310 Cecil around 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to Canonsburg police. Once on scene, the officers “detected a strong odor of marijuana and observed a quantity of marijuana in plain view on a living room table,” a press release issued by the Canonsburg Police Department indicated. The officers then notified Canonsburg police, which obtained a search warrant for the home.
