Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon to Benefit Washington County Programs

Proceeds will support JA’s financial literacy courses and the new careers in energy program in the Canon-McMillan School District.

Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania’s Washington and Greene County Chapter will host its annual Bowl-A-Thon at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23 at The Meadows Lanes at The Meadows Racetrack and Casino in North Strabane.  Proceeds from the Washington and Greene County event will support JA’s financial literacy courses and the new Careers in Energy program at the Burgettstown, Canon-McMillan, Central Greene, Charleroi, Chartiers-Houston, Jefferson Morgan, Peters Township, Ringgold, Trinity and Washington school districts.  Corporate teams and event sponsorships are currently available in ranges from $100 to $1,000. Two-Hour Delay for Canon-McMillan Schools

A winter storm warning has been cancelled.

Canon-McMillan School District is under a two-hour delay with modified kindergarten scheduled on Monday, March 25, according to WTAE. The National Weather Service canceled the winter storm warning. A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 2 p.m. as snowfall begins to diminish.

C-M Superintendent Chosen to Represent District At National Summit

The summit, held in California, was an invitation-only event.

Canon-McMillan Superintendent Michael Daniels represented the district at an invitation-only leadership summit in LaJolla, Calif. recently. He was hand-picked by the District Administration Leadership Institute to join a select group of just 65 superintendents from acorss the contruny at the summit held in Feb. 27 to March 1. Those who attended the Superintendents Summit had three days of professional development with a prominent roster of influential superintendents from across the United States. The institute’s executive director, Dr. Randall Collins, led the summit, which was dominated by cutting-edge sessions on educational excellence, innovative practices, technological advancements, and fresh perspectives.
