School Director Manuel Pihakis said the board accepted Chris Mary's resignation with regret.
Canon-McMillan School directors on Monday accepted the resignation of varsity wrestling coach Chris Mary. School Director Manuel Pihakis said the board knew the resignation was coming, and that it was accepted "with regret." Calling Mary and his accomplishments "super," Pihakis stressed that the outgoing coach was more than just someone who helped lead his wrestlers to victory time and again (to four consecutive WPIAL team titles, for example). "He's been the greatest representative Canon-McMillan can have," the school director said, adding that Mary is respected by administrators, his team and wrestling coaches across the state." The team recently won its second straight PIAA championship.
More accolades were given to the Canon-McMillan High School wrestling team Thursday—this time from the Washington County commissioners. The team and its coach, Chris Mary, are seen here after a certificate presentation. The wrestlers recently won their second-straight PIAA team championship. The team was also recently honored by hometown business Sarris Candies and came home from the championship in Hershey to an impromptu parade of sorts.

This time it was of the chocolate variety after being celebrated at hometown candy shop Sarris Candies.
They say winning a state championship is sweet, and winning back-to-back championships is sweeter. But the newest trophies the Canon-McMillan High School wrestling team (and its coaching staff) received this past weekend for winning its second-straight PIAA championship could be the sweetest. At least in the literal sense. Canonsburg's Sarris Candies presented chocolate trophies to the champs—with its Chief Operating Officer Bills Sarris handing them out individually with a beaming smile and hearty handshake. Police and fire vehicles escorted the team back into town this past weekend after the wrestlers won their second straight state championship.
Emergency lights were flashing and sirens were blaring in Canonsburg this past weekend, as area police and fire personnel escorted Canon-McMillan High School wrestling team back home from winning the state championship. A fireman from Muse compared it to an impromptu parade that was put together in a matter of a half-hour. "(I'm) proud to be part of such a wonderful community that is so supportive of kids doing good things!" said Holly Martin, who shot the video.

Congrats to the Canon-McMillan wrestling team, which on Saturday again won the PIAA state championship. The team won 34-31 against Central Dauphin Saturday in Hershey.

The team won Friday night over Easton.
Canon-McMillan High School's varsity wrestling team is again bound for the PIAA finals. The team won over Easton in the semi-finals by a score of 37-35 Friday night. The team wrestled in their first match in the PIAA Team Wrestling Championship Thursday.
Canon-McMillan High School's varsity wrestling team secured a spot in the PIAA quarterfinals Friday afternoon in Hershey, PA after beating Spring Grove High School Thursday night by a score of 42-22. The team next wrestles against Erie McDowell at 2 p.m. Friday at the Giant Center in Hershey. The team last week won the WPIAL wrestling championship for the fourth year in a row.

Congratulations to the Canon-McMillan High School varsity wrestling team, which won its fourth consecutive WPIAL championship on Saturday night against Franklin Regional. The score was 31-26.

Congrats to the Canon-McMillan High School varsity wrestling team, which beat Kiski Friday night by a score of 32-24 to advance to the WPIAL finals. The team wrestles against Franklin Regional next at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow—Saturday—at Chartiers Valley High School.
