Cecil Supervisors Hold Line on Taxes, Earmark $1 Million for Road Repairs
The Cecil Township Board of Supervisors tentatively approved the $6.7 million spending plan for 2013 earlier this week.
Cecil Township Board of Supervisors this week tentatively approved a $6.7 million spending plan, one that both holds the line on taxes and includes a $1 million earmark for road improvements. The vote was unanimous. About $600,000 of that funding will come from the township’s allotment of liquid fuel funds administered by the state. The remaining $400,000 earmarked for the improvements comes from Cecil’s share of casino revenue, as well as local impact fee money associated with Marcellus Shale drilling, according to Manager Don Gennuso. He said supervisors are now looking at which roads in the township need attention, and are making lists of which ones should be priorities.
