$1 Million in Road Improvements Slated for Cecil

Editor's Note: This story was edited at 9:15 a.m. Friday. Cecil Township Board of Supervisors this week voted to proceed with the bidding process for its $1 million road program. Township Manager Don Gennuso said the board hopes to send bid packages out this month and be in a position to open the bids and award the contract next month. "The board hopes to start the project as soon as possible in the spring," Gennuso said. The project is being paid for through the township's allotment of liquid fuel money, which amounts to about $700,000. Another $250,000 of the cost will be covered by local impact fee money related to Marcellus Shale drilling, and the remaining $135,000 will be paid with the township's local share of casino revenue.
