Criminal Mischief to Canonsburg Home, Car Reported

A home and car were both damaged following separate incidents this past weekend.

A Canonsburg man told borough police on Friday that it seems like his car gets keyed every night. Ryan Schwingel, of Giffin Avenue, told police that his girlfriend had made a report on Thursday morning that their vehicle had been looked through. It was only later, he told police, that he realized that it had been keyed down one side, as well. Then Friday morning he discovered that it had again been keyed. Schwingel, who drives a 1998 Mustang, requested police step up patrols in the area. Then on Saturday morning, Ed Malinowski reported criminal mischief at his mother's Tannehill Street home. Blotter: Tires Slashed, Identity Theft Reported

Here are the latest incidents reported to the Canonsburg Police Department.

Arthur Roland Chambers, of 423 Blaine Ave., told Canonsburg police Saturday morning that someone had slashed all four of his tires sometime the night before. The damage was estimated at $400, according to a police report. Criminal Mischief Reported Richard Ihrig, of East College Street, told Canonsburg police Sunday afternoon that someone had thrown a beer bottle against the rear window of his van, smashing it. He said the incident likely happened sometime Saturday night. No damage estimate was immediately available. Identity Theft Investigated Beth Bereksazi, of John Drive, told Canonsburg police that someone had opened a credit card account using her maiden name and a former address. She said whoever did charged $780 on the card, which …

Blotter: Cecil Police Investigate Burglary

Criminal mischief is also being investigated.

Cecil Township police are investigating a burglary of a garage on Ciaffoni and Dalbo roads. Police said Fred Dalbo called to report that someone had broken into a garage on his property there Sunday, broke three locks and stole myriad items from within. Among the items stolen were two new tree stands valued at $180 each, seven 4-foot-tall brass tiki torches, two air conditioning units, three spools of electrical wire and two chairs. Damage to car reported Stephanie Thompson, of 116 Rose Ave., told police on Tuesday that someone had damaged her 1998 Honda, which was parked outside her residence. Police said there was a large dent on the front quarter panel and several small dents on the hood. Anyone with information on either incident is …
