Police: Driver Reportedly Almost Hits Pedestrian, Arrested for Suspicion of DUI
A breath test showed the man had a blood-alcohol content of .213 percent.
Canonsburg police arrested a man for suspicion of driving under the influence Saturday after he reportedly almost hit a pedestrian walking near the Dollar General on East Pike Street. Police said they were notified around 7:20 p.m. of a reported reckless driver travelling on state Route 19 in North Strabane who was turning on Weavertown Road. A 911 operator told police that a man was following the vehicle, which was headed into the borough and was reportedly “all over the roadway.” Police next heard from 911 that the witness called to report the driver’s vehicle had “skipped a curb and went three-quarters onto the sidewalk,” allegedly almost hitting a pedestrian near the Dollar General on East Pike Street.
