Bulger Man Jailed for Forgery, Theft in Cecil

Scott Gill is accused of cashing checks from the account of a former employer in the amount of $4,101.

A Bulger man was jailed Saturday on forgery and theft charges after Cecil Township police said he illegally cashed checks from the bank account of his former employer. Cecil Township police charged Scott Gill, 22, with 13 counts of forgery and one count of theft of moveable property after the owners of 1 All Pro Roofing called to report that checks from the business had allegedly been taken, forged and cashed. A criminal complaint indicates that police were first notified of an alleged forgery on Sept. 27, when a local store called the business owner, Vince Kroesen of South Depoali Road, to let him know that someone was attempting to cash checks from his business account in the amount of $485. Canonsburg Woman Jailed on Forgery Charges

A preliminary hearing is set for May 14.

Deborah Fitch, 49, of Canonsburg is in the Washington County Jail after North Strabane police charged her with 73 counts of forgery, as well as one count each of theft by deception, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. She was arraigned Monday by district Judge Jay Weller and remanded to the Washington County Jail after being unable to post a $25,000 straight bond. Her preliminary hearing is set for May 14.
