The Canonsburg Police Department helped in the investigation that led to the conviction of a North Side man.

After deliberating for two hours, a federal jury found a North Side gang leader guilty of one count of violating federal narcotics trafficking laws, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced Wednesday. The Canonsburg Police Department was one of several agencies that helped investigate the case, according to a release. Gregory Washington, 36, of Pittsburgh, was tried before United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab in Pittsburgh. The evidence presented at trial established that Washington conspired to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute one kilogram or more of heroin from in or around January 2010 to March 3, 2011.
