One-Vehicle Crash Reported on I-79

An emergency helicopter has been called to the scene.

Police, fire and EMS personnel are on the scene of a crash on Interstate 79 north near the Canonsburg exit—one that happened just after midnight Saturday, first responders said. A patient needed to be extricated from the vehicle. An emergency helicopter was called to the scene at around 12:25 a.m., according to first responders. No further information was immediately available early Saturday morning. Please use caution if traveling in the area.

One Injured in Interstate 79 Crash

Traffic is backed up in the area of the Southpointe exit.

One person was injured in a three-vehicle accident that happened on Interstate 79 Tuesday afternoon, according to media reports and first reponders. The accident had the interstate closed and traffic snarled, according to WPXI-TV. The Observer-Reporter indicated that a vehicle hit a median and then another vehicle head-on. The accident also involved a tractor-trailer, the paper indicated on its website. A Washington County 911 supervisor said state police are investigating but had no further information Tuesday afternoon.
