Former Cecil No. 1 VFD Chief Gets Jail Sentence

Donald Hindman of North Strabane will spend at least two weeks behind bars for DUI in March.

A former fire chief of Cecil No. 1 Volunteer Fire Department in Lawrence will spend at least two weeks behind bars for driving while highly intoxicated to a medical call in March, the Observer-Reporter reported Friday. Judge Janet Moschetta Bell sentenced Donald M. Hindman Jr., 49, of 319 Hunting Creek Road, North Strabane Township, to 14 days to 6 months in jail after he pleaded guilty to driving under the influence. He had a blood-alcohol content of 0.253 percent, according to the Observer-Reporter. Hindman also received a 12-month driver’s license suspension. The judge ordered him to attend alcohol highway safety school, and undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation. Hindman was accused of driving an unmarked fire department pickup truck …

North Strabane Man Reports to Jail for DUI Sentence

Brendan Bizick reported to jail for a DUI charge stemming from Aug. 28, 2011.

A North Strabane man charged by Cecil Township police for driving under the influence reported to the Washington County Jail to on Monday to begin his sentence. Brendan Bizick, 23, had been taken into custody Oct. 27, when sheriff's deputies allegedly found him "holed up" in his parent's home, according to the Observer-Reporter newspaper. Online court dockets show that the charges stem from an Aug. 28, 2011 incident. Judge Janet Moschetta Bell on Dec. 16 sentenced him to 90 days to 18 months in Washington County Jail.
