Aggravated Indecent Assault Charge Withdrawn Against Local Man
Jeffrey Amand waived indecent assault and harassment charges to court Thursday.
The most severe charge levied against a Canonsburg man—aggravated indecent assault—was withdrawn during his preliminary hearing Thursday, while two other offenses were waived to court. Jeffrey Amand, 24, waived charges of indecent assault, a misdemeanor, and harassment to Washington County Court. He was briefly remanded to the Washington County Jail after police said he grabbed a woman in a “sexual manner” at McGrogan’s Tap Room on July 18. The victim had told Canonsburg police that the man assaulted her as she was leaving the bar and attempted to give Amand—someone she said she knew from school and had run into at the bar—a good-bye hug.
