A Cecil Township woman has started a fundraising effort for Muse Volunteer fireman Jim Faure.
JoAnn DelCorso said that when it comes to business and life, she likes to give more than she takes—and when it comes to helping, someone like Jim Faure automatically comes to mind. Especially now. "He's on his own and I figured if we're gonna help anyone, it should be someone who volunteers to help us," she said of Faure, 37, a Muse Volunteer fireman and EMT. So DelCorso, of Muse, said she will donate up to 30 percent of her sales through Beauti-Control Spas to go toward Faure's medical and other expenses. Faure, of Muse, underwent a foot surgery recently following an injury. He is recovering and receiving physical therapy in a skilled nursing facility, where he will be until April 4. The Muse Volunteer Fire Department held its annual Appreciation Night dinner this past weekend, where Firefighter/EMT Jim Faure was honored with the Chief's Award. Faure was recognized for his work and dedication to the department. "It's hard to find someone who puts so much pride into saving lives and helping the community as a volunteer," fire Chief Alan "Butch" Zombeck said. "He's just a great guy and deserves to be recognized for his hard work and commitment.

The Muse Volunteer Fire Department needs your help in the drive, which benefits Toys For Tots.
Members of the Muse Volunteer Fire Department hit the Washington Wal-Mart Thursday night to buy almost $1,500 worth of bikes and other kid swag—all to benefit Toys For Tots. The cash—raised at the department’s annual boot drive in October—and the toys bought with it will go a long way in the members' quest to fill a dump truck with kid-centric items. But they still need your help. The department invites the Canon-McMillan area to visit the station from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday. Members ask that you donate an unwrapped toy with a value of at least $5. The hope is to fill the dump truck to the brim—something Muse VFD officials have successfully done for the past few years.
