The sign says a new hair salon is moving into the township.
It used to be a coffee shop called The Place. But the storefront on Millers Run Road has been vacant for years. That is about to change, though. A sign on the building indicates that Salon 50 is moving into the space and is coming soon. Check back with Canon-McMillan Patch for more details as they become available.

Police said the Avella man was driving 60 mph in a 35 mph zone.
When Cecil Township police first saw the silver Pontiac early Sunday morning, officers noted that the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed—so high that, although officers pulled out to follow it, the car was out of site by the time they turned onto Millers Run Road. But as police returned to the Cecil Township Municipal Building, they noted scattered car parts along the roadway before seeing the Pontiac the second time—and even though the vehicle had crashed in the parking lot, it again sped away down Millers Run Road. Police pursued the vehicle, which officers noted was traveling about 60 mph in a 35 mph zone, and was smoking and leaking fluids. Residents in Canonsburg, Cecil and North Strabane agreed: Friday's winter storm made area roads a mess!
The question was simple: How are the roads in your neighborhood. And Canon-McMillan Patch’s Facebook friends’ answers were resounding: Terrible. Crappy. Untreated. Ridiculous. “Reissing Road was horrible, the bus came down safe thank goodness!!!” Cecil Township’s Jen Swearman posted. Rick Abruzzi took a more sarcastic approach to answering the question. “What roads? Can’t see them with all the snow on them,” he wrote. Several other readers said their roads hadn’t been touched by a plow as of early afternoon. “Smithfield Street definitely hasn’t been touched,” Amber Sembrat wrote. Still others said that while they were visited by a plow, it didn’t do them much good. “Plow came through Georgetown Estates around 11:45 a.m.,” Marci Zaunick …

Reclaimed has a "Now Open" sign front and center—and the festive collection of pumpkins and other fall items is grabs the attention of motorists passing on Millers Run Road.
It's difficult not to notice the new consignment shop located on Millers Run Road in Cecil Township. Bright orange pumpkins are stacked beside a scarecrow of sorts, and the "Now Open" sign adorning the entrance of the storefront (in the same building as the Golden Pig) lets passing motorists know that Reclaimed—a store that boasts furniture and collectibles—is in fact ready for customers. "We believe in reusing and recycling furniture, building materials and household goods. Just about everything can have a new life with a little imagination. We have a collection of very old, old, and not so old articles that are beautiful, functional and better than new," the website reads. It continues: "At Reclaimed, everything is either made by hand or…
