New Chief County Detective Named
He was introduced to the Washington County Commissioners Thursday.
Washington County District Attorney Eugene A. Vittone on Thursday announced that James McElhaney will be assuming the job of chief county detective effective immediately. McElhaney replaces J. Michael Aaron, who retired earlier this month. He will oversee all detectives operating in the Washington County District Attorneys Office, including the District Attorney Drug Task Force and the Special Victim Investigation and Prosecution Unit. These detectives assist with major crime, homicide and narcotic investigations. McElhaney was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, where he served as a military policeman.
